OOTD - 4.24.14

Hi everyone! So I did another OOTD post because I felt like showing you all my clothes. I also did my makeup today, which I never really show on here. I have recently changed the amount of makeup I wear since it is getting warmer. Soon, I will do a post on my Spring Makeup Routine.  Today was mostly a lazy day because I am still on Spring Break and stayed in my pajamas until two in the afternoon. When I did get ready, this is what I wore.

(I just wrote a very long paragraph that was mostly pointless)

My outfit:

Pink Muscle T-shirt- Kohls $24
H&M Zippered Pants - $18-$22
Headband- Click here to see all about my headband
Juicy Couture Shoes - $75 (approximately)
Tommy Hilfiger Jacket - N/A (it was a gift)

For my makeup I went for a natural look that would hide my acne and make me look less tired.
I will do my makeup routine soon.

Until next post,

xx

Taylor Swift: Style Swap

Taylor Swift: Style Swap!
By: Sarah of Sincerely, Sarah D

If you would ask me to describe Taylor Swift’s personal style, I would probably say something along the lines of cute, feminine, and simple. She takes after the 1950’s classic look, with pearls and her signature red lip. In an exclusive yahoo shine interview, Taylor is quoted saying one of her fashion icons is Cyd Charisse, an actress from the 1940’s and 50’s. I personally love Taylor’s style because it is timeless and vintage, yet it still manages to look chic and fashionable. I took inspiration from her long, vintage-style skirts and dresses, pearl accessories, and bright red lip color when creating my Taylor Swift- inspired outfit.

Taylor’s outfits that I used as inspiration:

What I came up with:

This outfit personally reminds me of Taylor Swift’s style for many reasons. For one, I wore a knee-length, flowy skirt which is a staple in Swift’s wardrobe. The striped sweater has a very vintage look, and you can’t channel Taylor Swift without her signature pearls and bright red lip! I added my own flare of style with a polka dot headband, tying the look together!

How to Clean Makeup Brushes

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on in four days, it has been a very hectic week. Have you ever had dirty makeup brushes and didn't know how to clean them? Well, that has happened to me many times. So, today I am going to show you step-by-step how to clean makeup brushes. It takes 10-15 minutes to do all your brushes depending on how many brushes you have.

Some websites say you need special liquid to clean your brushes. I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo to clean the brushes and it works very well.

First: Pour a little bit (the size of a dime) of the shampoo into your palm.

Second: Wet your brush slightly so the shampoo will mix with the water.

Third: Rub the damp brush into your palm where the shampoo is. Make quick circles in your palm with the brush until no more makeup is coming off of the brush or the shampoo is black.

Fourth: Rinse your brush of shampoo and makeup. Wait until all no more makeup is coming off the brush before dying.

Last: Dry your brush by patting it on a towel. Then, let it sit on the bowl to air dry before using it again.

Hope this helped :)

OOTD- 4.5.14 Miley Cyrus Concert

Hey everyone! I went to a Miley Cyrus Concert this past Saturday. I would have to say, it was so much fun. She was playing a few miles away from me so it was an easy commute. I will write about it soon, if you all want to hear about it. My outfit was perfect for the concert. Since it is still April I decided to not wear shorts but that didn't stop others from dressing just like Miley.

My outfit:

Brandy Melville Shirt - $15 dollars
Brandy Melville Bralette - $22 dollar
H&M Zippered Jeans - $18-25 dollars
Doc Martens- $120 dollars

"But, my dear, this is not Wonderland and you are not Alice"

My Doc Martens have made another appearance. You can say, I am obsessed with them.

Something must have caught my interest, lol.

The complete look.

You can see the bralette through my shirt which I thought was cute. It is stylish under sheer tops and Brandy Melville has a variety of backs and colors.

Summer Fashions 2013

Even though there is only one month left of Summer, I will talk about the styles from Summer 2013. Some clothes brands I saw were Forever 21, Brandy Melville, TopShop, Pacsun, and H &M. All 5 of those brands have clothes that are expensive or reasonable.

Skirts are really popular especially high waisted. High waisted anything is popular at the moment. I saw a lot of people wearing skirts like this. Also bralets are popular. The one in the photo has a back like cut fabric but not all of them are like that. You can look at Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez for inspiration.

High waisted shorts are a bit more expensive then regular shorts. I honestly don't know why. I have two pairs from a boutique which were 32.00 dollars. Usually I wouldn't spend that much money on shorts but I got them with the money I got for my birthday. But at least one pair is good enough to have and you can pair it with bandeaus, bralets, t-shirts, or three quarter sleeves.

Graphic Muscle t-shirts were one of my favorite trends of the summer. I have a muscle t-shirt that says, "geek chic". People were pronouncing chic as chick and were making fun of it. *flips hair* They don't understand fashion. But muscle t-shirts are worn with bandeaus and I really liked the trend.

Band t-shirts are pretty popular. I noticed that people wear nirvana, the ramones, and even modern day bands like 5SOS, and one direction t-shirts. I like the look of more older bands because I personally like rock music and the t-shirts are pretty cool.

Maxi dresses also known as high-low dresses. These dresses are bit more formal but I like the way it looks. They are good for events or if you want to go out at night.

This is a typical outfit I've seen recently. The American flag shorts are popular and you can
buy them at forever 21. The brand name shirts like Coca-Cola shirt is popular and I have seen many people wearing clothes like that.

Open back dresses and heart back dresses from Brandy Melville and other stores have been very popular too. I, myself don't have the type of dress but my friends do and I have seen YouTube gurus wearing these dresses (madisenrosebeauty1 and makeupbymandy24) and they look gorgeous in them.

Overalls are back in style. It's not like it was in the early 2000's which I barely remember. But crop tops and and long sleeve shirts with overalls or overall dresses are perfect. I love them so much and I hope it doesn't go out of style.
