Summer Lookbook 2014 Part 1

Hey everyone! So, awhile back I did a haul (Check it out here ).  Since I have been so behind in blogposts I am posting a small photoshoot that my gorgeous friend, and I did awhile back. We decided to model some Spring/Summer clothes in May. These are some outfits you can wear at on chilly nights or in the hot days of Summer. More up-to-date hauls and lookbooks will be coming soon…

Elizabeth (Liz) is wearing jeans, short-sleeved shirt, and converse. This outfit is for the beginning of Spring. It's casual and is basically all I wear in April and May.

(She's a dancer so we took some pretty dramatic photos :P )

My outfit is from the haul I did. The skirt and shirt are from Forever 21. Usually I like wearing shorts during the Summer but this year I really like skirts. The shirt has lace detailing over it and I have worn it  with shorts and it goes with many different things. My shoes are just navy toms.

Liz is wearing a "Cali" crop top from Forever 21. She matched it with white shorts. This is a more summer-y outfit since crop tops are very big this year. There are so many different styles now. You can never go wrong with converse with any casual outfit.

The last outfit we showed is a black cami from Forever 21. I put a Brandy Melville flannel on over the camp. Just by putting something over a tank top/cami it can make an outfit look more casual. I paired this with shorts from Forever 21.

I hope you liked this little photo shoot we did. If you want 'better' posts showing more outfits, comment below.

Digifest 2014

Hey everyone! May was an extremely busy and hectic month. I couldn't write a lot of posts due to my birthday, and other events that happened. June is a little less busy but I am going to try to post more because I missed my readers. Thank you for 6,000 views , it means a lot to me that so many people have read my blog.

Yesterday, June 7th was Digifest New York City. Digifest is an event all over the world where there are famous youtubers, viners, instagramers, and singers. There are many events such as meet and greets and concerts.  Well, my friend took me to this wonderful event and it was one of the most fun ways to kick off the Summer.

(None of these photos are zoomed :) )

First, I got to see Chase Gohering perform a few songs, especially his famous song called "Hurt". He was on last season of American XFactor and he was really good. I think I may be a fan of him now. I was so close to him and I started screaming his name.

I went to the side of the main stage to see if I can meet any viners or performers. I got to meet a viner and take a picture with him which was pretty cool. But, most importantly I got to meet Frankie Grande. He is Ariana Grande's brother and is a performer himself. He didn't take a picture with me which was a bit annoying but I got to take a picture of him.

I got to meet another viner which was pretty cool. I pushed my phone at him and he took two pictures and he was so nice about it.

One of my favorite events was Acacia Brinley and her brother Peyton Clark perform a few covers of songs. Peyton Clark is on the Disney Channel show, I Didn't Do It. Acacia Brinley is a singer and she is more famous for her tumblr, and youtube. They performed a few songs and they were really good.

After their  performance I waited a little bit at the stage and started screaming their names. A little part of me thought they weren't going to come over to me. I was wrong, they came up to me and I got to take a picture with both of them. Peyton was so nice and was really funny.

Acacia took the selfie with me and she held my phone. She was so nice and I was so happy to meet her. An Acacia fan page even featured me on their instagram since I got to meet her. I really wanted to meet her and I started freaking out after. My friend also got pictures with them too.

I went up to these guys and they had talent on their cards. They gave me hugs and my friend took pictures on my camera with them. Did I mention they were really attractive? They were taking photos with a bunch of people.

Lastly, I got to be 3 yards away from Lohanthony and Thatsojack. Jack and Anthony both looked at me since I was so close and I was screaming their names. They are two of my favorite youtubers and it was pretty great getting to see them.

Digifest was a lot of fun and if it comes to a city near you,  you should definitely consider going to it.

QOTD: Do you recognize any of the people I met?

Spring/ Summer 2014 Haul

Hey everyone!   I went shopping in Soho over the weekend with my birthday money and boy did I buy a lot of things.   I went to American Apparel, PINK, Sephora, Forever 21, and Brandy Melville.   When I was in American Apparel, the craziest thing happened!   Troian Bellisario who plays Spencer Hastings on Pretty Little Liars was there.   I, sadly, didn't get a picture but I was freaking out.   She is so beautiful in person.   I am going to show a few things I got, the rest you will either see either in my Summer Lookbooks (which will be posted next week hopefully!) or in my upcoming posts.

The first thing I got was a Brandy Melville bralette.   I got asked the question, "What is the use of a bralette?"   For me, Brandy Melville bralettes are really comfortable and they are good for shirts that are sheer.   Also if you are wearing an open back shirt/dress, or a cropped muscle t-shirt they are good. It is sold for $19.00  at Brandy Melville and comes in black too.

The next thing I got from Brandy Melville was a blue flannel shirt.  I was in need of a flannel shirt because they are so comfortable and you can wear them open or buttoned and they still look good.   I like to style with sweats, leggings, and jeans.   It was $35.

I had so many gift cards to use at Forever 21 so I bought $90 worth of clothes with only paying a balance of $5 dollars.  You should have seen the cashier's face!   This is one of my favorite things I got on Saturday.   It was $19.80 and it fits really nicely and I loved it.  You will definitely see this dress in my  lookbook.

I have so many pairs of high waisted shorts, so I needed a pair of regular shorts.   Floral is the Summer pattern of 2014 so I thought these shorts were really cute.  They fit very well and they are cute with light and bright colors.   These shorts were $19.80 from Forever 21.

This crop top is from Forever 21 for $10.80 and it is pretty and great for Summer.   I would pair this with either shorts or a skirt depending how you want to dress for the day.  Stores like American Apparel sell shirts like this, but if you want a version of it for less, it is definitely worth it to get it at Forever 21.

I got a new bathing suit from PINK.   I have never bought a bathing suit from PINK for some reason.   I have gotten new bikinis from Target.   I know it sounds weird but Target has really cute bathing suits for a good price.   PINK ones are really great too.   For tops they make sure it fits you by finding your actual size.   Since PINK is a store by Victoria's Secret they make sure everything fits well.   PINK is also doing this new promotion with the black bandeau top I bought.   If you get any swimwear, the bandeau is $10 dollars instead of the normal price of $32.   When I found this out, I got bottoms that are black with white pineapples.  Black goes with many things.   It matches with my other new bathings suits (I'll show them soon!) and it was $10 so it was a good price.   If you spend $75  at PINK for this promotion you get a free towel, and I did.

The last thing I am going to show for now is my new cropped muscle t-shirt.  It says Cali on it, as in California.   Despite living in America, I am on the East Coast and California is on the West Coast so it is 3,000 miles away.   I hope to visit it soon though, I would love to go there.   This shirt was from Forever 21 $12.80.

Keep a watch out for my new posts coming soon!   What do you think of what I got?   What is your Summer must-have piece of clothing?

OOTD: 5.3.14

Hey everyone, I know it has been a while. But, I am going to start doing more posts each week again. This month has been crazy busy for me. It was my birthday on May 8,  so I am officially 14. I will do a post on what I got soon. I also have been busy with school trips and dances. Next month I have my last dance recital at my studio. *tears* I also graduate from middle school next month, so that's exciting. Basically I have a lot of things planned which means even more blogposts to talk about.

This outfit I am wearing I got from American Apparel. This outfit was for a school dance I had at my school. I would post photos from the dance, but a few people would get mad at me.

My outfit:

American Apparel- Denim Circle Skirt
American Apparel-  Striped Crop top
American Apparel- over the knee black socks
Doc Martens

My original plan was to straighten my hair. I didn't have enough time nor knowledge on how to straighten my very curly hair. It came out like beach waves and I was fine with that.

Two of my friends and me just taking photos in the bathroom. The girl in the turquoise will be in a few of my next blogposts because of what we have planned.

The night was a lot of fun. A few embarrassing moments happened but oh well. I got to dance with a bunch of friends. It is going to be so different when I don't go to school with these kids anymore.

More posts soon!

I promise

IT'S MY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Hey everyone! This is really exciting news. A year ago on May 3, 2013 I created this blog. Yes, I didn't post daily for a long time. I physically created this blog a year ago. In the most recent years I have been more interested in fashion and I experimented a lot with makeup. I have always loved writing. When I was 11 and 12 I made a Hunger Games blog and a fashion blog with two girls in my class. Those blogs have been abandoned for sometime now.

A little over a month ago I got more involved with the blogging world. I joined a blogging network with other teenage bloggers and I made some friends that way. I have also been working with brands and you'll see that really soon. I have started to love the blogging world. I get to take some pretty cool photos and it has helped me as a person. The comments and emails I  receive make me so happy and I love it so much.

This post is basically a thank you for all the support that I have received in the last two months. We are getting close to my goal for my birthday which was 5,000 views. My 14th birthday is May 8, so that is so exciting.

Thank you to all of my followers I wouldn't know what I would do without you guys.

New posts this week!

xx

OOTD - 4.24.14

Hi everyone! So I did another OOTD post because I felt like showing you all my clothes. I also did my makeup today, which I never really show on here. I have recently changed the amount of makeup I wear since it is getting warmer. Soon, I will do a post on my Spring Makeup Routine.  Today was mostly a lazy day because I am still on Spring Break and stayed in my pajamas until two in the afternoon. When I did get ready, this is what I wore.

(I just wrote a very long paragraph that was mostly pointless)

My outfit:

Pink Muscle T-shirt- Kohls $24
H&M Zippered Pants - $18-$22
Headband- Click here to see all about my headband
Juicy Couture Shoes - $75 (approximately)
Tommy Hilfiger Jacket - N/A (it was a gift)

For my makeup I went for a natural look that would hide my acne and make me look less tired.
I will do my makeup routine soon.

Until next post,

xx

Taylor Swift: Style Swap

Taylor Swift: Style Swap!
By: Sarah of Sincerely, Sarah D

If you would ask me to describe Taylor Swift’s personal style, I would probably say something along the lines of cute, feminine, and simple. She takes after the 1950’s classic look, with pearls and her signature red lip. In an exclusive yahoo shine interview, Taylor is quoted saying one of her fashion icons is Cyd Charisse, an actress from the 1940’s and 50’s. I personally love Taylor’s style because it is timeless and vintage, yet it still manages to look chic and fashionable. I took inspiration from her long, vintage-style skirts and dresses, pearl accessories, and bright red lip color when creating my Taylor Swift- inspired outfit.

Taylor’s outfits that I used as inspiration:

What I came up with:

This outfit personally reminds me of Taylor Swift’s style for many reasons. For one, I wore a knee-length, flowy skirt which is a staple in Swift’s wardrobe. The striped sweater has a very vintage look, and you can’t channel Taylor Swift without her signature pearls and bright red lip! I added my own flare of style with a polka dot headband, tying the look together!

How to Clean Makeup Brushes

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on in four days, it has been a very hectic week. Have you ever had dirty makeup brushes and didn't know how to clean them? Well, that has happened to me many times. So, today I am going to show you step-by-step how to clean makeup brushes. It takes 10-15 minutes to do all your brushes depending on how many brushes you have.

Some websites say you need special liquid to clean your brushes. I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo to clean the brushes and it works very well.

First: Pour a little bit (the size of a dime) of the shampoo into your palm.

Second: Wet your brush slightly so the shampoo will mix with the water.

Third: Rub the damp brush into your palm where the shampoo is. Make quick circles in your palm with the brush until no more makeup is coming off of the brush or the shampoo is black.

Fourth: Rinse your brush of shampoo and makeup. Wait until all no more makeup is coming off the brush before dying.

Last: Dry your brush by patting it on a towel. Then, let it sit on the bowl to air dry before using it again.

Hope this helped :)

OOTD- 4.5.14 Miley Cyrus Concert

Hey everyone! I went to a Miley Cyrus Concert this past Saturday. I would have to say, it was so much fun. She was playing a few miles away from me so it was an easy commute. I will write about it soon, if you all want to hear about it. My outfit was perfect for the concert. Since it is still April I decided to not wear shorts but that didn't stop others from dressing just like Miley.

My outfit:

Brandy Melville Shirt - $15 dollars
Brandy Melville Bralette - $22 dollar
H&M Zippered Jeans - $18-25 dollars
Doc Martens- $120 dollars

"But, my dear, this is not Wonderland and you are not Alice"

My Doc Martens have made another appearance. You can say, I am obsessed with them.

Something must have caught my interest, lol.

The complete look.

You can see the bralette through my shirt which I thought was cute. It is stylish under sheer tops and Brandy Melville has a variety of backs and colors.

Summer Fashions 2013

Even though there is only one month left of Summer, I will talk about the styles from Summer 2013. Some clothes brands I saw were Forever 21, Brandy Melville, TopShop, Pacsun, and H &M. All 5 of those brands have clothes that are expensive or reasonable.

Skirts are really popular especially high waisted. High waisted anything is popular at the moment. I saw a lot of people wearing skirts like this. Also bralets are popular. The one in the photo has a back like cut fabric but not all of them are like that. You can look at Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez for inspiration.

High waisted shorts are a bit more expensive then regular shorts. I honestly don't know why. I have two pairs from a boutique which were 32.00 dollars. Usually I wouldn't spend that much money on shorts but I got them with the money I got for my birthday. But at least one pair is good enough to have and you can pair it with bandeaus, bralets, t-shirts, or three quarter sleeves.

Graphic Muscle t-shirts were one of my favorite trends of the summer. I have a muscle t-shirt that says, "geek chic". People were pronouncing chic as chick and were making fun of it. *flips hair* They don't understand fashion. But muscle t-shirts are worn with bandeaus and I really liked the trend.

Band t-shirts are pretty popular. I noticed that people wear nirvana, the ramones, and even modern day bands like 5SOS, and one direction t-shirts. I like the look of more older bands because I personally like rock music and the t-shirts are pretty cool.

Maxi dresses also known as high-low dresses. These dresses are bit more formal but I like the way it looks. They are good for events or if you want to go out at night.

This is a typical outfit I've seen recently. The American flag shorts are popular and you can
buy them at forever 21. The brand name shirts like Coca-Cola shirt is popular and I have seen many people wearing clothes like that.

Open back dresses and heart back dresses from Brandy Melville and other stores have been very popular too. I, myself don't have the type of dress but my friends do and I have seen YouTube gurus wearing these dresses (madisenrosebeauty1 and makeupbymandy24) and they look gorgeous in them.

Overalls are back in style. It's not like it was in the early 2000's which I barely remember. But crop tops and and long sleeve shirts with overalls or overall dresses are perfect. I love them so much and I hope it doesn't go out of style.
